Clarity

Founded by twin sisters, Lauren and Rachel Finch, Finch Bakery is an award-winning bakery known for their mouth-watering product range, and their honest, fun, relatable, and massively popular social media presence.

With multiple stores across the North West, and stockists nationwide, their bold, modern and fun approach to baking and business is the antithesis of the traditionally cutesy and twee baking style.

Creative Direction

Inspired by their products, the Finch Bakery brand identity is vibrant, fun and dynamic. Purposefully avoiding the clichéd illustrative approach, the brand spiral serves as a distinctive, versatile and memorable element, and elevates the brand’s impact wherever it’s used.

“Jack is a dream to work with, and after initially collaborating on our website in 2019, we’ve since completely overhauled our brand, redesigned our packaging and delivery van, and created our bestselling recipe book together too.

The hard work and creativity that Jack puts into all of his work is unmatched, and we can’t wait to continue working with him on all of our future projects.”

Recipe book

As Finch Bakery’s long-standing creative partner, Jack was commissioned by globally renowned publisher DK Books to design Lauren and Rachel’s debut recipe book. With over 80 Instagram-ready recipes, step-by-step baking techniques, and Finch Bakery’s best kept secrets, this 240 page book is an unashamed celebration of sugar and show-stopping bakes.

The book was a Sunday Times bestseller and Wordery’s Book of the Year.

Book Design

As a coffee table style book, a lot of thought was put into the layouts, typography, colour and photography style of the book. In alignment with Finch Bakery’s brand, we wanted to avoid the conventionally cutesy, traditional and twee baking style and go for something altogether more bold, colourful and modern.
